Submission Guidelines

Manuscript preparation and submission requirements

Overview

The Universal Journal of Advanced Research (UJAR) welcomes original research articles, review papers, case studies, and short communications across all academic disciplines. To ensure a smooth submission and review process, authors are requested to carefully follow these guidelines when preparing their manuscripts.

Manuscripts that do not conform to these guidelines may be returned to authors for revision before entering the peer review process.

Manuscript Format

  • File Format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format is required
  • Font: Times New Roman, 12-point font size
  • Line Spacing: Double-spaced throughout the manuscript
  • Margins: 1-inch (2.54 cm) margins on all sides
  • Page Numbers: Consecutive page numbering starting from the title page
  • Length: Typically 3,000-8,000 words (excluding references and appendices)

Title and Abstract Requirements

Title

  • Should be concise, informative, and reflect the main content of the manuscript
  • Avoid abbreviations and formulae where possible
  • Maximum length: 15-20 words

Abstract

  • Word Count: 150-250 words (strictly enforced)
  • Should be a single paragraph without subheadings
  • Must include: research objectives, methodology, key results, and main conclusions
  • Should be self-contained and understandable without reading the full paper
  • Avoid citations, abbreviations, and references in the abstract

Keywords

  • Number: 4-6 keywords (strictly enforced)
  • Should be specific and relevant to the manuscript content
  • Use standard terminology from your field
  • Separate keywords with commas or semicolons

Manuscript Structure

Research articles should follow the standard IMRAD structure (Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion). The typical structure includes:

Tables and Figures

  • Tables and figures should be numbered consecutively (Table 1, Table 2, Figure 1, Figure 2).
  • Each table and figure must have a descriptive caption.
  • Tables should be editable (not images) and created using Word’s table function.
  • Figures should be high resolution (minimum 300 dpi) and in JPEG, PNG, or TIFF format.
  • All tables and figures must be cited in the text.
  • Obtain permission for reproducing copyrighted tables or figures.

References and Citations

  • Citation Style: APA (American Psychological Association) or MLA (Modern Language Association) format.
  • All references cited in the text must appear in the reference list.
  • References should be listed alphabetically by author's last name.
  • Include DOI or Digital Object Identifier when available.
  • Ensure all URLs are active and accessible.
  • Minimum of 15–20 references for research articles.
