Copyright Policy
Authors retain copyright ownership
Copyright Ownership
The Universal Journal of Advanced Research (UJAR) operates under a progressive copyright policy that prioritizes author rights. Unlike traditional publishing models where copyright is transferred to the publisher, UJAR allows authors to retain full copyright ownership of their work.
This means that authors maintain complete control over their intellectual property while granting UJAR a non-exclusive license to publish and distribute their work under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
What Authors Retain
By retaining copyright, authors have the following rights:
- Reuse in Future Work: Authors can reuse their published work in future publications, including books, dissertations, and other articles.
- Repository Deposit: Authors can deposit their work in institutional, subject-specific, or personal repositories.
- Website Posting: Authors can post their work on personal, institutional, or departmental websites.
- Teaching Use: Authors can use their work for educational and teaching purposes.
- Presentation: Authors can present their work at conferences and seminars.
- Distribution: Authors can distribute copies to colleagues and students.
- Translation: Authors can create translations of their work.
- Derivative Works: Authors can create derivative works based on their published article.
License Grant to UJAR
By submitting their work to UJAR, authors grant the journal a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual license to:
- Publish the work in print and electronic formats
- Distribute the work to readers worldwide
- Make the work available through indexing and abstracting services
- Archive and preserve the work for long-term accessibility
- Promote the work through various channels
This license is non-exclusive, meaning authors retain the right to grant similar licenses to others and to use their work as they see fit.
Third-Party Content
Authors are responsible for obtaining necessary permissions for any third-party content included in their manuscripts:
- Figures and Tables: Permission must be obtained to reproduce figures, tables, or substantial portions of text from copyrighted sources.
